* the consumption rate is calculated taking into account the application of one layer of material
When calculating the area of the surface to be painted, it is necessary to subtract the area that will not be painted (windows, doors, etc.). Paint consumption may vary depending on the dilution and uniformity of paint application.

Description
Universal Rubber Paint Farbex
Farbex Rubber Paint is a modern elastic coating based on acrylic, designed for reliable protection and decoration of various surfaces. Its special formula combines high elasticity, resistance to weather conditions, UV radiation, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical stress. It’s a universal solution for both outdoor and indoor applications, effectively replacing conventional alkyd enamels, latex paints, and facade coatings.
Key Advantages of Farbex Universal Rubber Paint
- Matte finish with no shine, featuring a rich, even color and a pleasant texture
- Wash-resistant (Class 1 per DSTU EN 13300)
- Highly elastic—does not crack when the substrate deforms
- Excellent adhesion to wood, concrete, metal, galvanized surfaces, slate, brick
- High vapor permeability and low water absorption
- Quick-drying (approx. 2 hours per coat)
- Eco-friendly—VOC content less than 30 g/L
How Farbex Rubber Paint Differs from Other Paints
- Much more elastic than traditional coatings
- Withstands temperatures from –20 °C to +50 °C
- Does not crack on facades or roofs
- Adheres well to old painted surfaces, including oil-based and alkyd paints
- Can substitute enamel or waterproofing on vertical areas
- Note: not designed for heavily trafficked floors
Applications by Surface Type
Concrete
Ideal for concrete, aerated concrete, and foam concrete. High adhesion and vapor permeability prevent delamination.
Wood
Perfect for wooden facades, fences, and furniture. Protects wood from moisture, UV exposure, and mold, preserving its integrity.
Roofing
Great for roofs—on slate, tiles, onduline, and corrugated sheet metal. Resists rain, snow, and sun without fading for at least 7 years. Often used for galvanized surfaces and gutters.
Floors
Though abrasion-resistant, not recommended for floors with heavy mechanical wear. Suitable only for light-duty situations.
Coverage & Number of Coats
- Coverage: 100–200 g/m² per coat, variable depending on substrate and applicator
- Recommended: 2–3 coats
- First coat should be checked and corrected before applying the next
- Porous or rough substrates will require more paint
Tinting Options
- Base A: White, usable alone or tinted to pastel/light/medium shades
- Base C: For deep, saturated tones; not to be used unpigmented
Tinting methods: manual with Farbex Color pigment or automatic via color systems (e.g., NCS). Substrate should be uniform or pastel for even results. Tips for Vivid Colors:
- Use neutral/base coat with Base A, then finish with tinted paint to save on usage
- Always use products from the same batch to avoid color discrepancies
- Conduct a test patch first
- Avoid diluting tinted paint in the final coat—may slightly alter performance
- Saturated colors may have minor performance changes after tinting
Surface Preparation Table
| Substrate | Preparation | Primer / Undercoat |
| Slate, ceramic or mineral roofing tiles | Clean manually, mechanically, or with high-pressure washer; treat moss or fungi with Farbex mineral surface antiseptic; dry thoroughly | Primer not required. Optional thin coat (≤10% dilution) to bond dust and improve adhesion |
| Profiled sheeting, galvanized metal, aluminum | Remove rust; degrease; rinse with water; dry; strip off any old, weak coatings | Recommended: Maxima quick-drying anticorrosive primer; skip if there’s powder/special coating |
| Black steel | Clean manually (St2) or blast (Sa2½); degrease | Mandatory: apply Maxima quick-drying anticorrosive primer |
| Mineral surfaces | Ensure substrate is dry, solid, and free of dust, grease, lime; remove efflorescence; treat mold; fill with Farbex filler, sand and dust | Prime with Farbex deep-penetrating primer |
| Plywood, chipboard, fiberboard, cement board, OSB, wood | Clean, sand, dust off; remove resin; treat mold; fill and level with Farbex filler | Prime with Maxima acrylic wood-protective primer (except dense OSB/DSP) |
| Painted surfaces, wallpapers | Sand alkyd/oil paints to matt; easily sand water-dispersion paints; ensure wallpapers are secure, clean, dry | Primer not required |
Application Guidelines
Preparation:
- Ensure substrate is fully dry
- Mix paint well; strain if needed
- Dilute up to 5% for brushes/rollers, up to 10% for spray. Excess dilution will reduce coating quality.
Coats:
- Apply 2–3 coats
- Inspect the first coat for uniformity before applying the next
- Wait at least 4 hours after the previous coat has dried before re-coating
- Porous or rough surfaces require more paint
Technique & Conditions:
- Apply evenly and continuously, edge to edge
- Avoid spraying under direct sun, in winds, at humidity over 80%, or temperatures below +10 °C
- Substrate temperature must be at least 3 °C above dew point
Application Methods:
| Method | Dilution | Nozzle / Tip | Pressure |
| Airless spray | 0–10% | 0.017"–0.023" | 150–180 bar |
| Pneumatic spray | 0–10% | 2.0 mm | 3–4 bar |
| Brush or roller | 0–5% | — | — |
Tip: Use a short-nap roller for a smooth finish; airless spray helps prevent runs. Drying & Service Conditions:
- Drying time: 24 h under frost-free, rain-free weather
- Full cure in 28 days
Additional Recommendations
- For intense colors (yellow, red, green), undercoat with a pastel base
- Use paint from the same production batch for uniform results
- Not suitable for floors or areas with heavy mechanical loads
- Prolonged water exposure may cause temporary whitening—color restores after drying
- Compatible with prior acrylic or alkyd coatings
- Subsequent coats must be water-based acrylic
- Always test compatibility first
Tool Cleanup
Wash tools with water immediately after use to preserve their condition.
