Styrene-acrylic enamel for heating radiators Farbex
is a heat-resistant enamel that is perfect for painting batteries, pipes, heating radiators, and other elements of heating systems. Thanks to a special styrene-acrylic formula, it creates a durable coating that does not yellow over time, has high resistance to temperature fluctuations and mechanical impact. The enamel is odorless, dries quickly, applies evenly without streaks, and provides long-lasting protection. It is ideal for painting radiators, metal, wooden, and mineral surfaces indoors.
Main advantages
- Pure white color that does not change over time.
- High resistance to temperature fluctuations – withstands heating up to +80°C.
- Resistance to mechanical stress – does not wear off or crack.
- Water-based formula – safe to use, minimal VOC content.
- Quick drying – touch-dry in 2 hours.
- Excellent adhesion to metal, wood, and mineral surfaces.
- Easy application – spreads evenly without drips.
Application area
Designed for decorative and protective painting of primed or previously painted radiators and heating system elements, as well as primed wooden, metal, and mineral surfaces indoors.
Surface preparation before painting
To ensure maximum coating durability, proper surface preparation is required.
Metal surfaces (radiators, pipes, heating elements):
-
- Remove old coatings, rust, and scale using mechanical, chemical, or thermal methods.
- Clean from dust, dirt, and grease.
- Degrease the surface with a universal solvent.
- Apply an anti-corrosion primer to protect the metal from rust.
Wooden surfaces:
-
- Sand the surface to remove irregularities.
- Remove dust after sanding.
- If necessary, remove resin with a scraper or special agents.
- Treat with a wood protection primer to improve adhesion.
Mineral surfaces (concrete, plaster, brick):
-
- Clean from dirt, dust, efflorescence, mold, or mildew.
- Treat with an antiseptic if affected areas are present.
- Use a deep-penetrating primer to strengthen the base.
Attention! Painting should only be done on cold radiators. If they are warm, turn off the heating and wait for the surface to cool completely.
Enamel Application
Before use, the enamel must be thoroughly mixed until a uniform consistency is achieved.
Application Methods:
-
- Brush – for small details and hard-to-reach areas (we recommend using the Farbex radiator brush).
- Roller – for even coverage of large areas (you can choose from our product range).
- Sprayer – for quick application on complex surfaces.
Application Recommendations:
-
- Apply in 1-2 coats for maximum protection.
- The first coat creates a uniform base for further painting.
- Apply the second coat after the first has fully dried, but not earlier than in 4 hours.
- Paint evenly in one direction to avoid drips and unevenness.
- Application temperature: from +15°C to +35°C, relative humidity – no more than 80%.
- Avoid applying too thick a layer to prevent cracking and uneven drying.
Drying Time:
-
- Touch dry – after 2 hours.
- Full curing – after 28 days.
Do not apply enamel to heated pipes and radiators!
Cleaning Tools After Painting
- Immediately after finishing work, rinse tools with clean water.
- If the enamel dries, it will be much more difficult to clean.
